Filter the sun

You can't look at an eclipse of the sun with your naked eye.  You have to look through smoked glass or exposed x-ray film to avoid damaging your eyes.  Well....isn't it just as dangerous to see life straight on?  Don't you need the smoky stuff to make it safe to look at?

Sometimes it softens the focus - makes reality easier to look at.

It's not the finding, it's the seeking

It's not the finding,..
It's the seeking...
And the things we learn along the way.
About ourselves
About others

About life

The Good of it
The Bad of it
Everyone gets to try both.
Some have more of one than the other...
Sometimes Good and Bad cycle through - a couple of good years, a couple of bad.
The thing we seek is balance between the two.

What's done is done

What is done cannot be undone.  We can only reflect and learn from the consequences of our actions.

Truth be told, the majority of our actions as we move through our lives are only of import to ourselves.  Probably,  that remark you made so long ago, that still flits through your head at the most inappropriate times, only registered in your own brain.  If our brains retained every sentence that was filtered through our ears for the entirety of our lives, I think that the personal interconnectedness - our collective soul - would be lost.
